Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

it’s a way to easily install scripts (point and click) commonly with cpanel (your host provides it, it’s a control panel). I’d ask them if they’ll include it, and even if they do your host needs to upgrade.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Well not all hosts provide Cpanel. On all the hosts I’ve used so far, in fact, none provided it.

I don’t know if it impact the common distribution, maybe it’s a choice for a parallel distribution ?

Apart from the config.php file needed by hand, and the deletion of two files, the TXP install is pretty simple, by hand (FTP or the like) or even smpler with shell access (or a shell gateway like PhpShell).

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Fantastico scripts are great. Several of the web hosts I have used have a Fantastico module – I found myself far more likely to try open source projects that had Fantastico installers – and normally i’m a sucker for punishment (installing apps manually).
I’ve never written a Fantastico script – no idea the learning curve involved – but it’s a great way to ‘promote’ TXP. at least if the documentation is in good order ;-)

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Anyone know why or when the <b>svn/repos/current/</b> directory was changed or moved?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Could be preparing for a full 1.0 in the next few days, so that no new revisions or bugs come around.

But, don’t ask me. I’m just an idiot savant.

<i>“I’m just an idiot savant.”</i>

By any chance do you mysteriously know when V1 will be released? (that would be cool. insider information. kinda spooky)

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

http://www.textpattern.com/svn/repos/current is working for me. I can browse it with Tortoise right know.

From the unresolved ticket you can do your own estimate of 1.0 release… I see right now 14 tickets, and 2 with an unclear status (not sure there will be for 1.0).

Well maybe 15, I have another bug on hand, but it’s pretty minor…

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Just an update: http://textpattern.com/svn/repos/current gives me a 404 error in browsers and a 501 with Tortoise.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available

Ya, noticed that a couple days ago (see bottom part page 8 this thread). Looks like it comes and goes.

This is a good sign?… <i>(fingers crossed)</i>
