Same problem here. A release candidate in non-Textpattern terms is a feature complete version. In this case we are looking at a RC3 which is very different from a RC1, with one feature still to be added (and then tested), with currently nine open tickets that have not changed for a few days.

There is no commitment to a release date, so it may be the end of the month, but it may as well be the end of the year.

You can download it with SVN, it’s quite simple. Two mouse click if you are on Windows with Tortoise SVN.

I’m in the same position. The end-2004 delay was… hard to understand, but since RC3 release everything went quite smoothly. Bugs are corrected quite regulary.

Again, there are still bugs in the present Release Candidate. It take time to pinpoint them down, and time to correct them.

Download was indeed very easy. I followed Mary’s method at
http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=5902
and had wget and release v158 downloaded in under 10 minutes.
Who said it was difficult?

Now to get my website up…

Dean, Zem and Kursor have done a great job and we all should really support them.

All the kind words in this thread are a great feedback although the three of them have to buy cheese in real life :)
