Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Well, it’s obious that any kind of “htmlarea-like” would have to produce textile code, isn’t it ?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
personally, i’d love to see this integrated somehow..

textile is good but i believe that wysiwyg can be even better if done right since it’s inherently more intuitive to use – esp for non-techies.

Will V1 offer us the ability to <a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=5314&p=1”>restrict author access to certain sSections</a>?

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Uh… I just checked my current version, and it says g1.19. Scary, isn’t it?
So, what problems would arise if I upgraded to 1.0rc3?
I just don’t wanna kill of my blog…
BTW, what’s the easiest way (specifically) to upgrade?
(Yes, I’m on TD. Read my avatar.)

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
I upgraded from 1.17 to 1.0RC3 without issue. All I had to do was make my password field >64 characters (but that was really because I was MySQL 4.0 -> 4.1)

Personally, I’d very much like a wywiwyg editor: What You Want Is What You Get.
Sorry, couldn’t help myself. :-)

Ray, I almost wish I hadn’t seen that. I signed up for the original VC deal and now I’ve gone and spent another USD$399! It’s just too good to pass up.

Re: Txp 1.0 RC3 Available
Question: Will upgrading from RC1 w/ messy urls to RC3 w/ clean urls break things? Or with the permalinks, menus and such adjust for the change from messy to clean?
Debating whether to make a clean install of 1.0 when it releases, or attempt an upgrade now (or when 1.0 releases).

i’m wondering too… i figured i can wait an extra week or so for 1.0; it’s heartwarming just to know rc3 is out there and beating strong :)

Just making sure <a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=6461&p=3#41494”>Etz Haim’s</a> post got noticed; ) This would solve my earlier request about <a href=“http://forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=5314”>user privileges</a>.

I, for one, went from RC1 with messy URLs to RC3, and then switched to clean URLs without problems. Messy ones still work, which is fine by me. Search engines will catch up eventually.

travholt: How about LyX and its WYSIWYM interface?
Edit after seeing the VC2 announcement: Dang it, Ray, why’d you have to go and mention that?
I hope the offer is still around on Tuesday when I get paid.
Edit #2: You only live once… savings account is $399 poorer, but now I’m a TXD customer. It was too good to wait for.
