Re: rc2 and 1.0

Well I’ll be damned, michaelkpate you have nailed me a wall. I too was installing some sites on Dreamhost had my machine set to their local dns servers.

Dreamhost must have never updated. Dreamhost is biggish isn’t it, does this mean every texpattern user who hosts with dreamhost and uses their dns is still waiting for 1.0 to come along?

At least we have 1.0 and should be thankful. :)

It is truly freaky when an explanation for something strange can be explained by off handed remarks.

Jeremie – we demand you drive down to Languedoc, and give dean a piece of your mind! This internet bullying just isn’t getting to him!

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I can’t help thinking that if I was in Dean’s position, working hard to fix those last tricky bugs, and I was reading some of these ungrateful comments, you know what I’d do? I’d say to myself ‘To hell with those ingrates tonight, I’m off down to the pub to get hammered!’. Off I would duly go and get myself stuck in to a Guinness frenzy! Once the hangover wore off I would think about getting back to work, unless somebody made a comment that made me thirsty again! After reading some of the comments, I wouldn’t blame him for saying ‘Screw it!’ and dropping the whole idea!

Internet bullying indeed. Bull is what I call it! You have paid nothing for the best software in its class and all you can do is bitch that the new version isn’t out yet. There has obviously been a problem that is causing the holdup. You know nothing of his home life and family situation. It could be that something far more important than a piece of software is keeping him busy. Think that you can do better? Go ahead, there ain’t nothing stopping you! Your so called internet bullying is more likely to distract him from the task at hand than help finish it.

He said he was trying to get it out on a certain date. This didn’t happen for very good reasons. In the long term we’ll all be better off for Dean’s diligence. I, for one, would like to go on record for saying that if you can’t offer your support to a good man who has done so much already, to hell with you! Get a life and let Dean live his!

Keep up the good work Dean.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

And we all love textpattern enough to come to this form every day and we really are excited for the new features Dean, just some of us are so excited we have ourselves all worked up in a tizzy and need to let it out somehow.

I use mine everyday – it’s like a good pair of shoes that I really like and works just fine and my feet love it – but goddamn! when will they make it in green?

So bravo, and when your ready to release it that will be tremendous, but as I said earlier: to the moon… settle down everyone ;)
