In my opinion, the best way to do so is with a currently existing version (either gamma1.19 or RC2).

I don’t mean this as a Diss o’ Da Dean, as it is a universal truth: if you’re going to make progress on your site dependent on the progress of some piece of software, you are setting yourself up for disappointment and frustration.

Do you expect the 1.0 release to be perfect, and bug free? Based on my experiece with dozens of pieces of software of all kinds, I don’t. It’s a lot of complex work, done by humans. By definition, I expect there to be problems. And I expect to read about them at my leisure, while using my working version of TxP, and waiting for the X.01 patches.

That’s my two cents. You can spend your time working on your site now, and a very few easy minutes updating later when 1.0 is out … or you can spend your time refreshing this forum.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

reid,

Yeah, except those aren’t conveniently bundled into a file. I could pull the code from source control, but at this point, I’m working with RC1 and patiently waiting for 1.0. But then I don’t have to go live until late Jan…. ;)

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I suppose that’s true of RC2, but gamma 1.19 is here:

Having watched the furor over the release of the Treo 650 and TiVoToGo over the past few months, I can assute everyone that this is the most patient online group I know of.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I just wish there was a list of definitive features that will be in 1.0.

Re: rc2 and 1.0

I’ve yet to use TXP on any of my sites. I “discovered” TXP a couple of weeks ago, and thougth it would be best to wait for the release of 1.0 last Monday :)

I don;t want to wait any longer, so should I be using rc2 or g119?

Or should I simply sit tight and wait for 1.0?

Re: rc2 and 1.0

steventer, after Dean got ill a couple of days ago and then recovered, he said it would be Friday or Saturday. So now it’s Sunday — sure it cannot be that long… I hope. I hope. I hope.

I, too, would just like a list of features.
