video.js rewritten - 88% smaller

I know we like lightweight-yet-performant things around this parish. I also know there are folks who have video content on their sites. With that in mind, the following might of be interest:

videojs.org/blog/videojs-v10-beta-hello-world-again

Heads up: there’s some AI involvement (caveat emptor).

Nice! Not tried it before though I have used plyr and recently media chrome. This is from the folks at Mux, who know their stuff. Nice to be able stream stuff without needing an iframe (but be aware that firefox may need special help).

They have a generous free tier which is great if you only need to stream small quantities. An example: 13 hours of streamed audio last month – 10-12 short podcast-style interviews with people recounting their experiences and one 1hr-long radio documentary – came to a grand total of 0.16$. Audio costs much less than video but even then, that’s way below their billing threshold.
