Link 'Title' sort order

With the risk of asking a really obvious question…I’m checking before I open a bug report.

Is the Links page ‘Title’ column supposed to use the Title value or the Sort Value when sorting?

Edit: Textpattern 4.9.1 on PHP 8.5.

Thank you.

Re: Link 'Title' sort order

It uses the Sort Order column, but I don’t know for the life of me why.

Thanks, Bloke. It feels a bit wonky on the admin side, but it makes sense for the front side.

I agree. If there’s a reason behind this behaviour, it eludes me.

Re: Link 'Title' sort order

There’s no dedicated name (title) sort criteria. The default case applies and just uses linksort.

I guess there’s no other way to show what order they’re going to display on the front-end because we don’t expose the linksort column in the table. Should we? Then the Title field could be handled distinctly.

I have no particularly strong feelings on front the side stuff – that’s much more configurable with link tags. Purely from an admin side perspective, sorting column lists by their heading seemingly works elsewhere as expected, the link title stuff in OP is perhaps an anomaly.
