font-size too small
Following my resolving the IG issue as described on forum.textpattern.com/viewtopic.php?id=52787, and after realising that the “nice try” error is served by txp, I just thought that I should mention that the font-size used for that (and possibly other) txp triggered blocks is too small for mobile devices.

Re: font-size too small
I think that is just a straight output from the header and treated by the browser as an oldschool html page. It is set at default browser font-family/font—size (Times, 16px). What is lacking is the viewport meta tag that would scale the page. Now it just is set to a “desktop browser” size.
generated html (but if you view source, it just shows “Nice try.”):
<htm><head></head><body>Nice try.</body></html>
Try with this URL (works with a desktop browser):

Re: font-size too small
Hi Philippe,
The font-size is small to me even when using the desktop browser but I definitely had an issue in instagram because the text was on the top left corner which I couldn’t see for a while. All I could see was a white page as my eyes are not what they used to be.
I have a forbidden page served by htaccess for our site and gave it a large enough font. Txp generated errors like this should be more visible, if anything, to alert us to fix them.

I think some Firefox versions on some Android small-screen devices will respect the OS font-size and output something readable without page scaling. Maybe.
Blame (mobile) browsers for that… (and I agree, even on a desktop browser, I have a hard time to try to read that browser default font-size). Without an appropriate viewport meta, they treat the page as “desktop” size and scale it down

Yes, ideally it should trigger the error_default.txp page template.

That is indeed interesting! On my FF/mac when I view the source, I just see Nice try. on line 1, and no html tags.

Every browser does, but what I said is the generated source is the structure given. That generated source is the way the browsers make a construction to render the page, as the message is send by the server as text/html.
