Thanks for the feedback. Maybe I can ask you about that nginx quirk in combination with the automatic thumbnails. It probably has to do with the way the thumbnail generation is triggered via a 404 and then bounced to a 301. That’s been the only anomaly I’ve encountered so far, though it’s early days (I followed your recommendation).

Sure – I’ll have a look. I’ve done precisely nothing with the image generation stuff in the whirlwind that happened last month, and I’ll need to refresh my memory on Nginx regex – so leave it with me for now and I’ll check in when I have time & brainmeat.
