Textpattern network sites now running Textpattern 4.9.0
I’ve bumped our network sites to Textpattern 4.9.0, and – with the exception of the legacy textpattern.org – all smooth sailing.
Please check our network sites for unexpected behaviour and report discrepancies.
plugins.textpattern.com
textile-lang.com
textpattern.com
textpattern.org
themes.textpattern.com
textile-lang.com
textpattern.com
textpattern.org
All being well, they’re all running on PHP 8.5 so PHP 8.2 can be retired very soon.

Awesome work, sir. And lightning rapid response. Thank you.

.org threw a wobbly on plugins (not a surprise), and we’ll need to do a full sweep for updates sooner rather than later. We can decommission it when the plugins site is GA, so not a deal breaker.

Re: Textpattern network sites now running Textpattern 4.9.0
For .org I’m pretty sure we’ve got all the plugins downloaded, so it’s just grunt work to upload them to plugins.textpattern.com, add the articles and fill in the metadata where we can. Can always backfill the compatibility info in dribs and drabs.
The site would really benefit from some scripting goodness. Keep meaning to sit down and devote some thought into maybe feeding it the files and have it extract everything it can, then use Oleg’s Article Post plugin (or direct access) to populate the DB and put the files in place.
That would lessen the workload significantly.

I thought .org was going to be retired in favour of plugins.textpattern.com? If you need help with .org in the meantime, I can help out with that. I did it last time.

+1. That was my understanding.

Thank you. I think it’s working fine. There was some grumbling re: rss_suparchive, but I’ve disabled that without any obvious catastrophes, and the site appears to work again.
If I’ve missed something and we need to either roll back to 4.8.8 or switch back to PHP 8.2, we have that opportunity.

Re: Textpattern network sites now running Textpattern 4.9.0
We may have to revert rpc.textpattern.com to Textpattern 4.8.8 and PHP 8.2 as I’m seeing:
There was a problem connecting to the Textpattern update server. Please try again later.

Could be related to high CPU usage running PHP 8.2 + PHP 8.5 in parallel. I’ve disabled PHP 8.2 for now, we can revisit in 24 hours if the message still appears.

rss_suparchive is ancient but used for the different views in the “directory” section. I re-enabled it and patched the errors I could find directly in the plugin code, but if you see something else, let me know. The plugin makes liberal use of the now defunct @ error control operator, and I only patched the cases that obviously caused errors.
