I cannot begin to explain how my blood pressure is right now after two large mochas and a release process that’s 4+ years old. I think I’m running at 60% cortisol…

textpattern.co/release-history
It’s currently rudimentary, but Textpattern 4.8.8 was the longest-running production version of Textpattern so far at 3 years 10 months 28 days.
Edit: and no, we won’t have that happen again…Textpattern 5 will involve a lot of work, energy and time, but patch releases for Textpattern 4 will continue.

Probably two too many, honestly.

As I understand it, language preferences are set on a per-user basis, so try logging in as another user (that is, switch the three-digit number to another three-digit number).

Re: Feedback: Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 released
@ gaekward… seems like I needed another espresso to kick in. ;-)
I have installed 4.9 into a new site. I didn’t get the message to delete Setup folder after installing 4.9
When I try to view the Setup folder I get this error message?
Could not change directory to “/home/bici/apps/textdemo_app/textpattern/setup”.
Does 4.9 somehow hide the Setup folder now?

This is likely because /textpattern/setup/ is automatically removed after an installation if permissions allow it – so you not being able to change directory to it is correct…because it’s not there. Not hidden, but deleted.

Yes … for some reason Transmit still listed the folder in spite of logging out and logging in again, but via terminal it was gone. nice.

Re: Feedback: Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 released
(I clicked on a few links starting with the 4.9 announcement and encountered an “UPGRADE.txt” link that went to a github “INSTALL.txt” file instead. I am now frustrated that I can’t find the page with that link again after losing the browser tab.)

Try reloading the article, I changed a stray link in the last few minutes.

Re: Feedback: Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 released
not sure where you clicked. But when you are logged in on a site via admin the link to download the 4.90 takes you to this page
from there download the desired file.
I have not yet upgraded am existing site, and plan to that later today on a couple of less crucial sites.
Installation of a new 4.9 went smoothly ..
