Re: [phw_sandSpace], an admin theme for TXP CMS 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9

Thanks for the sticky position of #view_modes. I usually add it to custom.css and am pleased to find it works out of the box in Sandspace.

Yeah, that was one the first thing I prototypes when you started extending the sanitising & tag parsing. Quite nice to have for long(er) articles. Glad you like it.

I’m considering options for third-party themes in the Textpattern 4.9-era demo, and I’d really like to include phw_sandSpace with appropriate credit / attribution.

I would state clearly that it is not a core theme, but is usable within the bounds of the license conditions (currently GPL v2).

From a logistics point of view, the demo server is rebuilt from known-good source every three hours. Based on the archive current file size, three-hourly curl requests for the phw_sandSpace .zip would generate less than 2MB of download burden per day.

I’d appreciate your consideration for including in the demo server, phiw13. Thank you.

That should be OK, I think. Licensing should not be an obstacle as far as I understand it.

I don’t think that daily download would break the server – or the internet… –.

Re: [phw_sandSpace], an admin theme for TXP CMS 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9

Sandspace 4.9-rc3, with some adjustments and improvement for the latest layout changes on the Write tab – the “action” links/buttons collapse the width of the icon on small screen devices. Also improvements in the Save zone area for the Forms and Pages panels to better accommodate longer strings (Greek, German,…). Assorted bug fixes.

This is hopefully the last RC release.

Re: [phw_sandSpace], an admin theme for TXP CMS 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9

Sandspace 4.9, fot Textpattern 4.9

Lots of fine-tuning, and optimisations since the pre-release versions. Form input fields have been refreshed under the hood. [type="radio"] and [type="checkbox"]inputs use the native appearance with the accent-color property. Some textareas and select[multiple] no use the auto-sizing property in supporting browsers – Chromium browsers, Safari 26.2 and associated Webkit browsers. Affected textareas: all description meta-data fields, main editor fields on the Write panel (only on larger displays).

Note:

- support for admin-side thumbnail size configuration
- the checksum.txt mechanism for file integrity verification (`.php` and `.js` files)

Re: [phw_sandSpace], an admin theme for TXP CMS 4.7, 4.8 and 4.9

Lovely work, as always Philippe. It’s a joy to use.

One tiny weirdness on the Preferences->Admin Themes subpanel (and only on that panel as far as I can tell) is there’s some horizontal scroll:

ibb.co/bRJWwcWq

[Firefox latest (146.0), MacOS Sequoia]

I can’t fathom by looking at the inspector why that should be, but you’re more well-versed in all things HTML/CSS than me. If there’s anything you’d like me to check, just let me know.

Thank you once again for this wonderful admin theme.

Thank you for the heads up. Grumble grumble how come that rule got dropped somehow?

Will update tomorrow, meanwhile you can add this to your custom.css if it bothers you:

main :is(.txp-edit, .txp-tabs-vertical-group) .txp-form-field-instructions {
  box-sizing: border-box;
}

And thank you for the compliment. Please enjoy.

You mean dropped from core? If it’s an issue, I’m sure Phil will add it back in.

Thank you for the rapid response. I’ll download the update when it lands.

OK, I have updated the theme to fix this small problem. Thank you Stef for noticing.

>> Download Sandspace 4.9.0

BTW, the problem exists in Hive 4.9.0 as well and might exist in Hive 4.8.8 but I cannot test that.

This is now done: phw_sandSpace is now selectable from the prefs panel on the release demo.

I would state clearly that it is not a core theme, but is usable within the bounds of the license conditions (currently GPL v2).

This is still outstanding. I am considering options re: an extra article, or another route in for attribution.
