Oh yes, you were a true pioneer. Of the regulars still around, I think only bici, giz, phiw13, mistersugar, saccade, TheEric, laszlo, michaelpate and Destry signed up before you, with bici and phiw13 joining in the first couple of weeks of the forum!

I am here too ;)

Re: Twenty years here

Curious: Who were the two that signed up after Dean Allen, whom I presume was the first?

I recall mamash, he was also on the Textdrive forums.

Jonathan passed over the reigns of Textpattern Tips a couple of weeks ago and txpbuilders now host it

So even after twenty years I discover that I really don’t know custom fields at all … to riff on a Joni song .
Via pursuing TxpTips (still a jewel of a resource) I came across this utube Nora Brown presentation. What a great presentation. Videos like these would greatly enhance promotng Textpattern.
Just in time for my current project. ;-)
TxPBuilders: Thanks for ensuring TxpTips remains available

Re: Twenty years here

So. I did a a thing. I revived the old version of textpattern that I remember from 2003 to work with current version of PHP/MYSQL

Textpattern b1.6.1

Re: Twenty years here

It has a certain appealing simplicity to it and your screenshot shows off nicely how screen sizes have changed since then. But I’m loth to say “those were the days”. I’d say we’ve come a long way since then, but that Textpattern is still recognisable.

Re: Twenty years here

Oh definitely. That was back in 1024×768 days. I was curious to see where everything came from because I had a bit of nostalgia. In any event, that old working version is available for download now because why not? Things have definitely changed for the better. We have improved.

and yet the pure simplicity of the UI is soothing. I bet a wizard could pop that UI to modern standards. Why? Well just because of the cool factor. Meaningful labor.
