Project sites downtime, November 18 2025
This forum was down for a period on the above date. Additionally, this coincided with a global issue at Cloudflare that affected a significant portion of the internet.
From our side: an errant logging process went out of control and filled up a storage volume. It has been summarily shot, and service has resumed.
From the Cloudflare side: there is a ongoing major incident at the time of this update. Please refer to www.cloudflarestatus.com for more info.
The timing was pretty good…for a moment, I thought my housekeeping had caused a major incident. Hehe.
Thank you for your patience while these issues were resolved.

Also, Cloudflare seemed to be having issues…

Re: Project sites downtime, November 18 2025
We had a 500 error our side – Nginx bombed out (edit: or maybe not, see www.cloudflarestatus.com/incidents/8gmgl950y3h7 for incident details) when it couldn’t write to a log file (volume full).
I’m considering disabling access logging to file for the next server build, and making it easily turn-on-able in case of an attack. See also YAGNI – fits the bill.
Edit: My go-to checker for DNS resolution speed is dnsperf.com…which is down…because jQuery can’t be loaded…from cdnJS…on CloudFlare.
