Thanks, Dragondz. Glad it’s not just me but I’d love to figure out why it happens.

Nothing. Network panel and Console all show usual stuff. No errors, no warnings.
The server response should contain the updated list, which is then injected into the page via js. At least, that’s how it works for me (on deletion and parent change). Since the list is updated on a simple refresh in your case, I’d blame js not doing its job, but can not reproduce it. Will test later on Mac.

It doesn’t. The response pane contains the old list, which I guess JS dutifully displays.

Eh?? Even with cache disabled, just in case?
Yep. If I have the Inspector open and the setting for “Disable HTTP cache when toolbox is open” is toggled on, I still see the stale content. The Network > Response tab shows the returned content does not have the upated category list in it. As I say, it’s bizarre.

Sorry, can not reproduce, neither locally nor on the demo server.

It has to be server specific somehow. On the demo server (running dev), with the same MacOS FireFox browser, it behaves perfectly. On my server (running beta.2), I get the stale version of the category list served until I refresh the page.

Re: Building huge category trees
If it has any bearing on things, the server is always one action behind.
- Create new Category “Brands” => Doesn’t appear. Refresh to make it appear.
- Select Brands as parent. Type in Brand-1 in the category title box and Save => Brand 1 does not appear.
- With Brands still selected (no refresh), type in Brand-2 in the category title box and Save => Brand 1 appears in the tree beneath Brands, but Brand-2 doesn’t.
- Type in Brand-3 in the category title box and Save => Brand 2 appears in the tree beneath Brands/Brand-1, but Brand-3 doesn’t.
… and so on.
Very strange behaviour.
