Re: Feedback: Textpattern CMS 4.9.0 beta.2 released

Updated some dev and live sites, no snags found yet. The Diagnostics warning about PHP being enabled in pages/articles was unexpected but a welcome reminder.

Aside: is upload_tmp_dir in Diagnostics a special string that doesn’t need translating into English? It looks a little out of place with the other strings all looking ‘normal’.

Both that and open_basedir (which you probably won’t see) are php.ini setting values, so we decided to keep them raw, since they’ll be in English in all php.ini files (as far as I’m aware). Nothing to stop us adding some paraphernalia text around them, as long as translators know to keep that part of the string untranslated.

From memory, they’re the only two untranslated values in the diag output.

Thanks, Bloke. Might be worth considering a ‘PHP info’ subheading in the diagnostics, then if any others are pulled in it’s more clear they’re PHP-related (i.e. not to be translated).
