Re: Is there still a need for a "small content management system"?
I’m back. I saw this. My thoughts – Wordpress is junk and the company behind it is worse. TXP still has a place for small to medium applications. I’ve come back over the past week as I’m working on a personal side project of my own integrating some things I’ve been using for my legal work, and will be using TXP as the back end to support it. Of course, TXP doesn’t have the plugin base that Wordpress has, so I’m going to have to custom develop a few things so that it works for me.
1. Public facing login/logout/account management
2. Purchase system.
3. My integrations which will need to save varying data to their profile.
To get back into the groove of developing, I’m updating the following to “re-learn” how to use textpattern. I didn’t realize how much has changed since I’ve last developed here, so its uphill.
1. EBL Upload
2. EBL Image Edit
Once these plugins are done, I plan on dropping them onto codecanyon for a few bucks each. This same idea for others, perhaps, could give TXP the impetus it needs if we make this platform commercially viable for the league of WP developers left languishing in a lingering lurch, looking for long-lasting stability in a platform.

Welcome back! Yes, much has changed. In particular, batch async uploads are in core now, but image edit plugins are very welcome. Just mind that stability-wise it’s not the best phase, since txp5 might be not fully compatible with txp4. It would be more prudent to wait for the 4.9 release and then see what happens.

Still there. Try reloading, might have been a temporary failure.
