rvm_utf8_to_utf8mb4 (v0.3)
This plugin updates pre-MySQL 5.5.3 tables to use full UTF-8 charset (utf8mb4 instead of utf8). Please follow the instructions carefully and backup the database in full prior to using it.
This plugin started giving errors a while ago in PHP8 and wasn’t quite up to date with the current set of txp tables. I’ve made some fixes to restore functionality, and have put it on GitHub: github.com/jools-r/rvm_utf8_to_utf8mb4
It’s not yet packaged up as a txt-installer or with readme/help because:
- Ruud may want to check over my corrections, and
- possibly publish the update on his own site
in which case I’ll remove my repo again. This plugin didn’t appear to have its own forum thread, so I’ve started a new one and will cross-post from his other plugin to get Ruud’s attention :-)
