textpattern.com homepage: The sunflower animation is AWOL
I think there was a thread where this was already mentioned, but I cannot find it. So let’s start again.
On the home page of textpattern.com there used to be a sunflower animation:
Now this place is empty.
Both Fx 123/Win and Chrome 122/Win tell me in their debug logs: Uncaught SyntaxError: invalid assignment left-hand side and refer to a JS file located here.

Hmmm, might be a Windows thing? The animation is still there on Firefox 123 and Safari 15.6.1, Mac.

It’s patchy. Some browsers work, some are static image, some are missing entirely. I’ve not been able to pin down as to why.

Ofcourse, I go back a few hours later and everything is loading fine as far as I can see (tested FP only).

I can see it on FF and brave but not on Safari. Using latest versions of all browsers.

I’m using Safari 17.3.1 on macOS 14.3.1 (23D60) and I can’t see any sunflowers on the Textpattern homepage.

I even learnt how to add images to GitHub issues in a strange markup generator language that somehow resembles Textile, but is a close second.

This should now be fixed – let me know your results though (and might have to clear your caches, although I’ve recached on Cloudflare and also the cache buster should avoid this, but hey). Simply updating the Terser dependency (our JS minifier) to the latest version and rebuilding fixed this issue on Windows 11 Firefox v124 for me.
