Breadcrumb URL pattern

Today, for the first time, I noticed that one of the options for URL pattern in preferences->site->Article URL Pattern is ‘breadcrumb’, which indicated articles will be set as ‘/breadcrumb/title’.

I changed a test site, and the resulting pages show ‘/section/title’.

What is it supposed to do?

That could be right if the article has no categories assigned. You should get:

/section/
/section/article (article has no categories)
/section/category-name/article (one category assigned)
/section/category-name/other-category-name/article (two categories assigned)

You can try it out on the demo sites by switching the url scheme and duplicating the demo article with one or no categories.

Re: Breadcrumb URL pattern

Use with caution, the breadcrumb will include the whole path to the article category(ies).
