Textile demo site partly non-functional
Nowhere does it generate the “expected browser output” and “HTML output”. The relevant fields (mustard yellow background) are blank and remain blank.
The browser console reports:
SyntaxError: Unexpected token '==='
That is a fairly recent change, I think. I must have last visited some ~4 weeks ago.

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
Hi Philippe, While I do see the message in the browser console, I’m not observing that behaviour with the current safari. It seems to work fine for me at present.

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
jakob, thanks for checking… it does not work form my side, Safari 17, Firefox latest-beta, Brave. I even went as far as “reload with content blockers” in Safari (although 1Blocker does not flag/block anything) with no improvements.
Here is a screengrab as seen in Brave on the Endnotes page.

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
I must apologise: I’m observing that now too, also with Safari 17.1. No idea why it was working yesterday evening but not today.
EDIT: No, I wasn’t dreaming it. textile-lang.com does still seem to work on my other computer. I can only imagine I have a cached version of the js file because in a completely fresh instance of another browser it doesn’t work, so I can see both working and not-working. The filename timestamp is identical for both: 1617787392774

Yeah, we’ve had this before. I’ll have to pick through and find the solution – leave it with me, I’ll look into it today.
There has been some (now resolved) server turbulence…are you seeing the same thing?

Can you open an issue here please, phiw13? It will help me track it, I’m absolutely swamped at the moment and I don’t want to lose track. Thank you.

Thank you for fixing this Pete. I was getting Cloudflare errors and thread corruptions on some topics while viewing the forum.

Welcome! It was craziness I’ve never seen before, this issue seems to be related and it’s just…huh?

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
macOS/Brave 1.60 = works as expected.
macOS/Chrome 119 = Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected token '===' (at try.1617787392774.js:1:65851)
macOS/Tor 13 = Uncaught SyntaxError: expected expression, got '==='try.1617787392774.js:1:65850

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
It seems to work fine now, although at first the script affecting the <textarea />
seemed a little slow and wonky. But Safari / Firefox / Brave all work. I’ll recheck later on another Mac and if still wonky, will open a GH issue.

Re: Textile demo site partly non-functional
On the iMac, I had to restart Firefox (latest beta) and Brave (whatever the latest release at writing time) before I finally could see the expected output in the relevant boxes (just force reloading a few times would not work). Safari 17.1 worked correctly after a forced reload. The only one that stubbornly refuses to render correctly is Safari TP.
All mentioned browsers had visited the site (with errors) when I originally reported the issue.
There does seem some agressive caching going on…
