Deviant Art has introduced new directives to attempt to block AI image and text harvesters.

That is a bit amusing given they themselves developed an AI tool to generate images, learning from, amongst others, their own users’ images (link, ArsTechnica as it was the first to popup in the browser history) But OK better late than never.
Hopefully those no-robots tags will be respected. Colour me sceptical though.
I will certainly add them to the collection, even though I already have robot.txt and general headers in place to prevent bots to scan my own images.
PS – Pinterest also has some tags to prevent indexing and/or “pinning”. I’ll check tomorrow for my reference.
Where is that emoji for a solar powered submarine when you need it ?

Don’t hold your breath:) I believe that unless we create proper server side scripts to protect our content, any meta or htaccess directive would not work for everyone.

That would certainly go against the promisse they seemingly give to their users. Of course, those promisses are not worth much, lees than the bytes they are displayed with…
