Forum maintenance: 17 March 2022 1800UTC to 17 March 2022 2000UTC
The Textpattern forum will be offline for a short while as part of a server move.
The move is happening because a) we no longer need PHP 7.4 for one of our legacy sites; and b) we are moving to newer (better) hardware.
The net result will be a better forum experience since we’re not going to be sharing server resources between two versions of PHP, and the overall server performance is greater.
During the maintenance window, please use a web archive (e.g. Wayback Machine) or your search engine’s cache facility to enable read-only access to posts.
I will use this thread to let you know when it’s back up and running properly.

Good work, everything appears a-OK ATM. I could search for “something keyword” and got (some expected) results, so that is fine. Page loading, log in, previewing are all smooth as silk.

Note: the forum database is backed up every hour at 3 minutes past, and rather than put the forum into maintenance mode every hour I’ve chosen to do it live.
The net result is that you will find searching, posting and browsing a bit slow around 3 – 4 minutes past the hour. Your search / post / thread will appear, it’ll just be a little slow.
Technical: a 400MB+ database is gzip compressed to ~80MB ever hour, and the process takes all available CPU for the duration.
