Please provide any feedback here related to Textpattern 4.8.8 beta released: PHP 8.1 support, behind-the-scenes changes, and more.

For those of you familiar with the demo sites, I’ve set up the beta here:

beta-demo.textpattern.co

Grab a user login from here as usual, and go wild.

(I have not updated the demo sites landing page since whoever wrote the awful page + form code for it many years ago (me) didn’t comment it very well and I have to unpick it to work out wtf is happening. Ahem. Whoops.)

I have a small client site going live today so the beta will be going on their server this afternoon in preparation for launch.

quick silly question: does a 4.8.8dev build downloaded 2~3 days before the 4.8.8 beta build also include a fix for the security issue mentioned in the release notes ? Asking as I have those on a couple of live sites and I am not really in the mood to do the update dance.

(I guess yes, a fix or workaround is included, based on what code was modified after my download according to github)
