MariaDB versions

Wanted to ask this for a while:

How do MariaDB versions correspond to MySQL versions ? I have been unable to find a clear and simple explanation or its versioning scheme.

For example, one server uses this: MySQL: 5.5.5-10.3.31-MariaDB (MariaDB Server)  (extracted from the Textpattern Diagnostics report).

Re: MariaDB versions

MariaDB has a longer article about this issue here.

So according to this MariaDB 10.4 – 10.7 is with some incompatibilities comparable to MySQL 8.0. 10.2 and 10.3 correspondingly to MySQL 5.7.

The actual stable version is 10.6.4.

Re: MariaDB versions

Thanks. That clarifies things a little.

Strange that that one article did not show up in my searches, though.
