How/Where can I translate "Fill out this field" text?

When you hit the “Preview” button of a comment form, a (beautiful) popover appears with the text “Fill out this field”.

Where (and how) can this text be translated into another language (eg. Japanese)?

Old Photos of Japan – Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
MeijiShowa – Stock photos of Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
JapaneseStreets.com – Japanese street fashion (mostly txp)

These are browser messages, dependent on the browser language. To customize them, one generally uses JS.

I had no idea!

So, if somebody’s system is set to Japanese, they automatically get the Japanese version of “Fill out this field”?

In other words, it is automatic and I don’t need to bother with it?

What you see is the default message provided by the browser (Safari in your case ?). You probably use an OS running in English, thus the English text. Users who run their OS in other languages will see a localised string (Japanese macOS / iOS will show the message in Japanese).

As Oleg notes, you can customise it (JS), which I see as something with very low benefits for simple things as comments forms.

I guess so, but feel free to try.

Well, a perfectionist would say you should, but it’s debatable.
