Happy birthday, Wordpress!

ma.tt/2021/05/wordpress-18/

I remember using b2 / cafélog / evolution as my first proper CMS. This dude Matt Mullenweg was a user, too. Then b2 was forked, Wordpress was born, and 18 years later it’s on 40% or so of all websites. Blows my mind, I tell you.

Re: Happy birthday, Wordpress!

it’s quite a story for sure. While i wish Matt all the best —- Happy Birthday—- it blows my mind that this php-happy app is so popular. i hated working with it the two years i managed a restaurant wp site for a friend. I dreaded making any changes as i had no clue what would happen.

Wow, time flies. WordPress is old enough to drink in the UK.

Happy Birthday!
