Re: smd_where_used: help keep your admin side tidy
smd_where_used has always seemed bullet-proof…until now :(
Searched for known text in a custom field – but nothing found.
Also, ‘Article search fields’ checkbox selections saved after clicking ‘Save’, but deselected again by clicking ‘Search’.
v4.5.4 and no plugins except smd_where_used 0.30 & smd_lib 0.36 (required?)
Thanks in advance.

Probably won’t help, but you could try disabling the lib, it isn’t required.

Ah, try changing the plugin’s Type to ‘4’ (it’s probably still 3). If you can do it from phpMyAdmin, that’s fine. Or try to download the plugin again from my site. It should update the type when you reinstall it and then saving the article field list will work again. Let me know if it doesn’t, thanks.
The plugin’s having a major enhancement for the next version. Just gotta get round to finishing it off.

Downloaded from your site and reinstalled and…the balance of the universe has been restored. Thanks!
Unaware of the new plugin ‘Type’ differentiation. Interesting.

Re: smd_where_used: help keep your admin side tidy
Major update at long last to v0.4.0. Complete code overhaul internally (although visually you’ll probably only notice that you can now click the checkbox/radio labels to toggle them). The big feature in this release is that searches are now theme-aware. So no more need to guess which identically-named form belongs to which theme: it tells you.
It’s also possible to limit your searches by theme (it defaults to your current working theme) or just choose the empty entry at the top to search them all.
Hope this long overdue update is helpful. As always, ideas for improvements or bugs you find can be noted here or in the plugin issue tracker.

Lovely, thank you.
The animation that opens the list of article search fields is a tad annoying for users (me…) who prefer reduced motion (system pref). This specifically: jQuery("#smd_wu_prefs").toggle('fast');
. I changed it to use just .toggle()
.

Killed the animation. Good call, thank you.

Thanks. :-)
For some reason (1 column display I think), that animation never really felt so annoying in previous versions. The “fan-like” unfolding action of the jQuery animation on the current multi-column display is much more pronounced.
(and my head seems to be much more sensitive to that kind of movements of late)

Re: smd_where_used: help keep your admin side tidy
Yeah, I only changed it from a single column because it took up so much vertical space. Didn’t think about the animation aspect of that change so it’s a good catch.

The change to a multi-column layout is a great move and makes the selection much more easy.
