RFC: do we need a forum for introductions & new users?

Hello, forum friends.

I think this place might benefit from a forum for newbies to introduce themselves, ask questions, and find their way.

People who use Textpattern right now that aren’t necessarily familiar with how this place works might benefit, and it’d be less of an unwieldy wall of text that some of the threads have. We could use it to triage stuff where a new user might need some direction (to the right forum). Honestly, it’d also be kind of cool to see where Textpattern has reached around the world, too.

What do you think?

Nice idea, it could be a new members start here forum with a sticky post with some links.

My name is Dorijan, I’m from Belgrade, Serbia. Found this unique place only recently.
I instantly knew I will stick with it. Frendly, intuitive, informative and useful. Textpattern for short.
This is the concept I was looking for due to my lack of technical skills.

Working on two Textpattern based projects and like the progress of them.
One of them is https://etimonia.com – a place for writers..

Primarily interested in writing solutions, text based sites and alike (hyphenation, fonts, formatting..)
Will localize for Serbian (half way there)

Regards D.

Yes, that sort of thing. I know with some other forums I’ve used before where I need specifics, they have a newbie forum that works as an ice breaker, and we could certainly do with some of that around here sometimes!
