Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] txp.icio.us - Del.icio.us bookmarks made easy
I reinstalled and I think it has something to do with del.icio.us’ servers; it tells me I am unable to connect.
I changed the cache age from 60 to 1, just to see more quickly if it worked… is it bad to lower it to anything less than 5? You mentioned something affriming that, but gave no explanation as to why.
At least now I’m further than I was before… heh.
BTW, thanks for working on this, I’m sure it’s rather frustrating at times.

Del.icio.us will ban you if you hit their servers too frequently – thus the hour cache.

Okay, well now I don’t get an error anymore… we’re back to zero output. Heheh.

Well, fuckbiscuits. Um, was this mentioned anywhere besides now? And how long does the ban last?

It’s in del.icio.us’ pages somewhere… Let me check.

He doesn’t really define… it just says this: “Please don’t write anything that causes one hit to the API for every pageload on your site; this will be considered abusive.”

Yeah… bummer. I hope it isn’t permanent.

I doubt they’re that proactive about banning.

Has anyone else tried this on the very latest SVN install? Because that’s what I’ve got – and even with a fresh SVN install, fresh magpie, fresh plugin (active)… I’m not getting anything – not even a cache file or an error message.
Greenrift, if you want it, I’ll give you the username and password for the test install.
It’s going to be simple when I find it, I know it is.

Dunno how long the ban lasts, the website never says anything about length just that it willl happened (it happened to my test server while I was writing it. But thats back now). I’d say like a day or so.
Definitely keep the cache above 5 minutes. If you’re trying to debug, turn the “MAGPIE_DEBUG” constant on, you can do this by either setting it to a value greater than 1 or adding a constant in your config.php by writing define('DEV',true);. THen just make DEV false and the debug stuff goes away.
Jennifer, if you email me that stuff I can take a look.

Re: [plugin] [ORPHAN] txp.icio.us - Del.icio.us bookmarks made easy
i am having similar problems as some of the other users – the plugin is active and everything but i get no output. i think it may be a problem with magpie, but i can’t figure out what. any suggestions? i’m pretty retarded when it comes to php and rss, so i apologise in advance.
edit: okay, i tried foregoing the txp.icio.us plugin for the moment and tried to get magpie to post the links using this code and a php include on my index file, and it works fine. but when i try using the plugin, no output. and i don’t get any gibberish cache files either. help please?
