Free lifetime 3gb Strongspace account with sftpDrive purchase

Just thought I would cross post this from the TXD forum for anyone interested. Great deal and supports Dean & Co. I’m guessing. I already have a 10gb lifetime Strongspace account so I don’t need it, but it’s good drive mounting software and a Mac version should be out in spring.

Every license of SftpDrive purchased directly from www.sftpdrive.com now comes with a coupon for a totally free, no expiration, 3GB Strongspace account – provided by great folks at Joyent.

Strongspace customers can buy SftpDrive for the discounted price of $24 (rather than $39). And when people buy SftpDrive, they get a 3gb Strongspace account for free. Yeah, free.

So… you have to already be a StrongSpace customer? or is it you just have to be a StrongSpace customer to get SftpDrive for the cheaper price?

I think it’s the latter, Mary. As strongspace customer you get 15$ off the sftpdrive and on the sftpdrive forum they mention a similar option for existing sftpdrive customers. As new customer you pay 39$ but that sounds okay given that a 5GiB account costs 15$/month.

EDIT: Well, I just tried it out. From purchase form at sftpdrive to functioning new drive letter took less than 5 minutes!

Yes and no, you get the cheaper price if you already have a SP account, or even if you do you can opt in for the full price and get another SP account with a lifetime 3gb backup space. I just bought a copy for my wife so she could have her own separate 3gb account to back up her important things. It’s great little piece of software anyway, and cheaper than Webdrive, which only has DAV as an advantage.

I just got it with the legacy login and I see my folders but no files. Last summer I was told legacy users would eventually be migrated to some new infrastructure but I’ve had no update since.

that is what i saw last week… shared folders but no files. I never received the email you mentioned about migration.

four months and still no access to my strongspace account, in spite of being told that they are fixing access issues. anyone have any other information?

Anyone have recommendations for a good cloud storage service? i simply want to back up my websites and sql files via rsync on a monthly basis to some service that allows access via scripts that i can schedule via cron job.
