PHP 7.3.24 and PHP 8.0.0RC3 are now installed to the demo site.

PHP 8.0.0RC4 is currently installing to the demo server. If all goes according to plan, we will have the GA (first press, gold master, full release, etc) version of PHP 8 in two weeks.

I will be starting a new thread for server stack updates when PHP 8.0.0 lands in two weeks. I may also start a new thread for other posts relating to the demo server since there’s over 6 years of posts, a lot of which are no longer relevant.
I am aware this thread is unwieldy and potentially low value since the procedural updates stuff is mixed in with more useful stuff. The majority of posts here are server updates, and I’m keen to keep some value.

You probably now it already, but anyway. At time of writing, trying to access the 4.9-dev demo admin returns a friendly
Database connection was successful, but the textpattern table was not found.10.11AM JST. just when I wanted to verify something :-(

I’m investigating now. I haven’t changed anything at all, I wonder if the upstream installer has been tweaked. Please hold, I will find out what’s happening.

OK, looks like an auto-installer error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=>' (T_DOUBLE_ARROW), expecting ')' in /var/www/sites/textpattern.co/dev-demo/live/dev/textpattern/vendors/Textpattern/Skin/Skin.php on line 1322I’l raise a ticket open an issue.
