A heads up to Privacy Badger users

Privacy Badger changes its learning modus to opt-in while now by default using a centralised list of tracking domains. I can’t tell whether that applies only to new installations (I’ve seen it today on my Android FF 81.1.4), as I’m using a ESR-Firefox v78 on my desktop where I can’t currently update the Badger. So maybe it might apply to all updated badger instances. Edit 2: Yes it does, see my next post. Better have a look at your settings.

Re: A heads up to Privacy Badger users

I actually did get a notification in the plugin. Further study is required.

Woops, new update available, and yes, new, non-learning modus by default.

Re: A heads up to Privacy Badger users

The point is, the data collected until for their list seems mostly gathered from US websites and they want to begin collecting data from other markets. Quote from the very last paragraph:

In the coming months, we will work on expanding the reach of Badger Sett beyond U.S.-centric websites to capture more trackers in our pre-trained lists.
