Contrast – app for accessible colours / contrast checking

Does anyone has experience with this app? It is a colour contrast checker, rather basic I think, from the look of it – just a few screen grabs. Some people who told me about it were rather enthusiast.

(available from the Mac App store only ~ 7€ / 860¥)

Not personally used that although it looks fine. I sometimes use contrast-ratio.com to check contrast ratios conform to WCAG 2.0 models – probably not as simple ‘click-and-go’ as the app you refer to though.

I use Contraste – see also Couleurs to complement it.

There are quite a few sites around that offer contrast-ratio checking; I personally like Tanaguru; it checks the contrast (4.5 or 7) and offer alternative colours in case of failure. Another (recent) option is Leonardo, although I have not used it much.

Yeah that is why I am back looking for a more native solution – and if the test fails, then Tanaguru or other similar sites can come to the rescue.

What I don’t really like in that Contrast.app is that it displays the colour values in HEX, which does absolutely not “speak” to me. hsl() is my method.

I hadn’t seen that one yet. I’ll give it a try – not much of an “about” on that webpage though. Ref. “Couleurs” – lots of similar colorpickers, I use “Colorwell” (app store link).

Re: Contrast – app for accessible colours / contrast checking

For my projects, I’m using intensively this online service: not only a color contrast ratio checker but also a corrector with a ratio minimum selector. Perfect!
