bici, please add details in this thread. Hopefully Pete will see it and can do something about it.

We thought that some companies were more ethical than others. We were wrong. The Microsoft Police State.

Re: Fookin' Goog 'n' Farcebook again

Does that really surprise you ? We are, after all, talking about the company that many many moons ago, when the internet was still in it’s infancy, had configured their network stuff so that, when a non-US machine connected to the net from a US location, the security services where easily able to ”share in the fun”. Daniel Glazman (aka glazou, of early years of CSS specs fame) had some very amusing stories about it on his blog.

Re: Fookin' Goog 'n' Farcebook again

Nothing much surprises me any more. Disappointment is a more accurate description.

I am so glad that 19 years after 9/11 we feel so safe from Terrorist Attacks that we can focus on defunding police and hampering their ability to do their jobs.

One of the many reasons I am happy I live in a small town.

Re: Fookin' Goog 'n' Farcebook again

FYI: Tutanota has been under DDOS attack since the middle of August (when it was down for most of the weekend). It’s been slow and unavailable for shorter lengths of time since, usually worse at weekends (probably because of less staff to cope with it?).

I was considering another email provider (possibly Posteo) but then found a thread with comments from Tutanota on it. They are appealing for us to be patient and are adapting and adjusting to mitigate the attacks. They have received no demands for money or other demands, so they conclude it is a deliberate attack on privacy.

Other commenters are blaming the Chinese and Russian governments, I think it could easily be G or M who want to corner the email market as well as surveill everyone. It might also be Protonmail (an NSA operation according to some). Who knows?
