'Default' section sniffied by Google SC

I just noticed Google Search Console had discover the default section as a different page than the home one despite a well set canonical URL.

So, I got 2 indexed pages:

https://my-website.com/
https://my-website.com/default

Strange that google ignores the canonical url! That should be the right way of dealing with it. Otherwise a redirect in your htaccess or arc_redirect?

How did Googlebot find & index that /default URL ? I don’t think TXP ever generates an URL like that.

If you have a default.css in your root, then your browser will find https://yoursite.org/default

Have you any source for this? I’ve never experienced that happening myself.

Have you checked that your sitemap.xml is set up correctly? Also if robots.txt exists then it isn’t specifying that location for some reason?

Same Question… source please. It does not make any sense to me. That could mean example.com/foo.css and g-bot start looking for example.com/foo. I have never seen that.

Sorry, false alarm. I get this on my home computer but could not reproduce on a real site.
