Many thanks for testing and glad we have asked for.

FF on W10 displays http://localhost/Категория/catname in URL bar for me, which is fine for Russian. I am for replacing Категория with category though, but rather in 4.9.

It seems that we have overlooked category links in breadcrumb mode: they should be http://localhost/Категория/c1/c2/c3 instead of just http://localhost/Категория/c3. Will fix.

I use the firefox browser. The site was installed a long time ago and was later updateds. The language used is Russian and Ukrainian.

The browser line displays:

https://site.com/Категория/text-link/

Категорія(uk)=Категория(ru)=Category(eng)

When try to copy, forward or transfer, a link is displayed:

https://site.com/%d0%9a%d0%b0%d1%82%d0%b5%d0%b3%d0%be%d1%80%d0%b8%d1%8f/text-link/

Such a link

https://site.com/Категория/text-link/

when transferring to another forum, facebook or twitter looks like this:

https://site.com/%d0%9a%d0%b0%d1%82%d0%b5%d0%b3%d0%be%d1%80%d0%b8%d1%8f/text-link/

Perhaps, but a sudden switch of existing links from https://site.com/Категория/text-link/ to https://site.com/category/text-link/ is not very SEO-friendly too. But since I don’t care about SEO, the decision is not mine.

It will be fixed. For now, from 4.8.2, you can use either IF you build the links by hand. But the tags will still generate localized URLs (for now). We’ll probably introduce a pref in future to ease transition for those that want to migrate away from the localized URLs.
