I use the plugin bot_wtc to hide elements in the Write tab, based on the section in which to post.
Yes, this is exactly what we’re talking about. bot_wtc does a fine job. This is just taking that idea out to unlimited custom fields and groups.

re: functionality
Would a save for later function be within the scope of what you are thinking? (In particular if you have a rudimentary customer account?)

Re: Plugin platform: e-commerce
Just found this thread and it sounds like this kind of an e-commerce platform for txp is exactly what I have been looking for.
As I am not a coder I can’t assist with development. But I would be happy to chip in and help in other ways.
What kind of a timeline are you looking at, Stef?
• Old Photos of Japan – Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
• MeijiShowa – Stock photos of Japan in the 1850s~1960s (100% txp)
• JapaneseStreets.com – Japanese street fashion (mostly txp)

How are you at time travel? Or human cloning? ;)
Unless someone can step up and give me a hand with refactoring/rewriting yab_shop or pulling bits from my fork of that plugin, this’ll have to be done around other life things and Textpattern dev work.
I would think a key component of this would also be unlimited custom fields, since part of the reason it’s such a pain in the plugin right now to handle product variants is due to limitations of our current custom field implementation.

Not so good at either, I fear, Stef…
Wish I could assist with refactoring/rewriting, but I am not a coder.
Willing to chip in, though. Hopefully, others are too.
This would be great for txp to have. Especially now that the coronavirus increases the importance of e-commerce.
