[SOLVED] Error messages installation 4.8

Dear people,

I just wanted to let you know, that I am getting the following error messages during installation:

Admittedly it is the first time I saw this error here but i found this on githbb which recomends specifying pcre.jit = 0 in php.ini and in WP somebody recommended to add pcre.jit = Off in the PHP configuration file.

Oh, colak. You have become such a knowledgable guy.

Just out of curiosity, I have recreated the setup with the suggested setting in php.ini without getting the error messages.
As far as I understand this, JIT stands for just in time compilation.

But why would textpattern need such a thing anyway? Is this not something which should be fixed in the core?

Yes.

Txp doesn’t; this is a Textile thing. I’m not even sure why Textile is complaining in this case. I didn’t know it had a JIT compiler dependency.

I’ve never seen this error before so maybe it’s a host-specific configuration? Perhaps if it’s enabled on your host, Textile can take advantage of JIT, but it fell over in this case? I’m not entirely sure what’s going on.

Netcarver’s not the maintainer any more. Jukka is :) I’d raise an issue on that repo.
