speaking of archiving:
Anyone have the chops to grab Textism amd cardfgiagn industries from the WayBackMachine archive and host them on textpattern:
these should be curated by us:
ps
In my view we could have a static subdomain for Dean’s digital footprint such as
deanallen.textpattern.com/twitter/…
deanallen.textpattern.com/cardigan/…
deanallen.textpattern.com/textism/…
The home page of this could be an about page for Dean, the reasons for the subdomain, and links to the 3 sections.

Re: Twitter will delete unused accounts
ok i have heard back from Gail regarding Archiving Dean’s posts/twiiter.
bici wrote #320308:
agreed. i have reached out to his widow to check on her wishes/objections and to see if there are credentials to the account to be had.
GA writes in part:
I have no objections to your archiving Dean’s Twitter account. But I’m afraid I can’t help with the login details.
Mullenweg had said he would acquire textism.com and put one of his people of restoring the site as fully as possible.
She is not sure where the project is currently at.

[Mullenweg] probably has more legitimacy than us here.
I’m not exactly sure about this.

i have reached out to Matt to ask where the project is at. i am not sure that textism.com is under his control as it currently redirects elsewhere.

Textism dropped and got picked up by a travel booking vendor. Any recovery efforts will have to focus on recovery + rebuild from the Wayback Machine or similar, I fear.

Interestingly, it still has the textile parser on it, which could mean that it was a hostile takeover!

Twitter: “We are not planning to automatically remove the verified badge from inactive accounts of people who are no longer living, and are working on building a way to memorialize these accounts in 2021.” – blog.twitter.com/en_us/topics/company/2020/our-plans-to-relaunch-verification-and-whats-next.html
Dean’s account was not verified and I have no idea on what their policy will be about that.
