Files should have an optional expiration date, like Articles
Light bulb moment.
Have we covered this before? I’ve searched and nothing was forthcoming, but I’m still searching.

There’s no in-built cron scheduler in Textpattern (hence why logs are culled only when the logs page is viewed, that triggers the cleanup), so I would imagine the same situation with expired files if it was to be that way.
…but then expired Articles aren’t deleted, so why should Files be different? Curious, not intended to sound confrontational.

right. i hadn’t thought that through… of course if an article with a image were to expire, that the image should not, can not, be deleted.
I was thinking more of an image/file etc that was made available for download and not part of article. I could see a use for an option to have the image/doc “expire” or deleted at a set time.
