Alternatives to Sequel Pro to manage DB’s ?

I have used Sequel Pro for a long time, it is a pleasure to work with. However it has not been updated in a while, and seems to have problems with MySQL DB’s. It goes into an unending hang once trying to access the DB (or is it just me who managed to install MySQL badly ? wouldn’t be surprising…).

phpMyAdmin is not an option.

If you think it might be Sequel Pro, you might want to try a test build. It is under sporadic but ongoing development. The latest test build is from less than 2 days ago.

Coincidentally, bici mentioned adminer as an alternative to phpMySQL over here.

Thanks Jacob. I’ll first have a look at those test builds of Sequel Pro. Good to see there is still some life in that project.

+1 on the nightlies. There are issues with newer MySQL releases on the ‘proper’ releases, especially with MySQL 8.*. A skim through the issues will provide a good overview of the general feeling.

Re: Alternatives to Sequel Pro to manage DB’s ?

Thanks again Jacob for the suggestion of using nightly test builds. The most recent one to date works reasonably well (at least enough for my humble needs!) and, most importantly, allows working with MySql 8.* DB’s.

I think it was this issue that was pestering me.
