Re: WebFaction joins GoDaddy
unfortunately that didn’t work. i think due to naming conventions.
perhaps the user can forward their old email to the new server in batches.

Re: WebFaction joins GoDaddy
You‘re on a2hosting now, right?
Did you see their help article on migrating email?
That details where to put the folders as well as manual migration methods using an email program. If the first works, that‘s definitely easiest. Then you might want to try something like imapsync (online tool here) (or similar scripts out there). The manual method they describe as option 2 should work in any case (with any host) and will certainly be better than forwarding mails where the to’s and from’s get all mucked up).
EDIT: sorry, I missed some of the earlier messages and didn’t see you’d already discussed some of the options.

From a brief bit of research, there are a number of online services like shuttlecloud.com, yippiemove.com and migrationwiz (www.bittitan.com/migrationwiz) – what names ? – that clock in at about 10-15$ per account and then a number of IMAP sync tools, often for the command line like Imapsync, imapfw and isync.
Just finished moving 3 large emails and one LARGE email inbox using the new improved imapsync .
They now have a webased option. so cool!

i like the look of whats on offer: Locations in Canada or France. The price and features is good enough to have me overlook that it is is using cPanel.
Looking Marvellous

wow. yet another great option.
Funny how these two were un-discoverable a couple of months back. Is it that there are more and more web hosting companies coming on stream?
