In case you haven’t seen Patrick’s new preview of a theme for the upcoming Textpattern CMS 4.7.2

Re: Simplr Theme

Looks good! Will it be added as a choice or will it be the default install?

Re: Simplr Theme

Nice work Patrick! Looks great!

Why 4.7.2+? Is that the “section” form types you’re using?

Personally, I think the basic txp installation should be kept lean simply because people have such different needs. But once we have enough themes for a themes site, the txp theme’s panel could have a link to the forthcoming template site.

Re: Simplr Theme

Yes the themes site I’m planning for first half of 2019 build and launch.

So I’ll put Patrick’s theme on there so it’s easy to find and install.

(I also plan on getting my Bootstrap Framework for Textpattern theme finished by then too.)

Re: Simplr Theme

You can never have too many great themes.

Re: Simplr Theme

Swanky! Nice work, Patrick. Looking forward to bundling this up and offering it on the Themes site when Phil has worked his magic.

+1

But once we have enough themes for a themes site, the txp theme’s panel could have a link to the forthcoming template site.

In the meantime, I would be happy to spin up a themes-centric demo site after 4.7.2 drops so there’s something that can be poked and prodded. I don’t see a need for including every theme out there, but it would be a nice showcase until Phil’s proper site is ready.

i like the idea of having something simple as a choice, for those that want to get up a simple.
Simplr has a good basic feel for a blog.
perhaps another sample for a portfolio site and perhaps a company site would be good.

just my 2c worth

Hi Patrick. thanks. ?? what happened to the neat trick of auto changing from bw to colour photo you had in your first version.

Re: Simplr Theme

You can apply a (CSS) filter on images to change aspects: B&W or saturated colors (with or without a “Lightbox”). These features aren’t supported in the first version.

Please, wait until tomorrow: I just made some improvements (support for aspect images by article, so images can be differents as shown on the demo site); this new version will be available (tomorrow).
