4.7 tag checker in debug mode?
Did the checking for proper closing of enclosing tags (in debug mode or else) already exist pre 4.7?
i am asking, because for one i enjoy it, but as well i wonder, if certain plugins get confused by this.
Since i updated to 4.7 my smd_tags installation (0.60) essentially doesn’t work anymore. The tag checker works on the smd_tags tags, but only, when the plugin has been turned off. When the plugin is turned on, the tag landing page shows the error_default page form instead of the tag_results page form.
I am trying to locate the source of that error, assuming, that it could be cause by the tag checker.
EDIT: Or could it be, that a certain section doesn’t show up, because it doesn’t comply somehow with (public-side) themes?

No, it’s a 4.7 thing. And, IIRC, the processing of ambiguous </txp:tags /> has changed between 4.6 and 4.7, but the parser should warn you if it encounters one.

This is unlikely related to the parser, though plugins can interfere with the core behavior. But then Stef only knows…

I can only see if there’s errors, when smd_tags is deactivated. Then they produce no errors. Tag checking – and theme support – seem the two obvious things, that changed in 4.7, so i am evaluating in that direction. I left another detailed note on the plugin thread, so maybe don’t worry any further.
