Re: [textpacks] Translating languages strings for Textpattern 4.7
Can you open an issue on Textpattern main repo about this. We can discuss further there. Thanks.

Thanks for opening that issue for me, Pete!
I’ve just opened an account with GH, they’ve further shortened (and simplified) their TOS, so I was finally able to read these.
In bad weather I never leave home without wet_plugout, smd_where_used and adi_form_links

Just a heads up – the preflight-text-moving branch moves the texts used in the diagnostics textarea panel to mode.ini
and keeps them in English – thus saving 26 strings from needing translation into various languages in future. Will be merged into dev
branch soon after some further testing. Ta!

Sorry, people – 3 more strings added to Textpacks got translation. Hopefully that’s the final version for Textpattern 4.7 now. Thanks all.

Hi Phil,
I’ll be doing the Greek one but I’ve been flat out for a few months now. I hope that in February I’ll get a breather in which case i’ll be able to give it a few hours.
I started with the translations to Greek. It’ll take me some days. I’m still not sure how to translate “Themes”. I’m wondering how other CMSs translated them. Is there one any of you would recommend for me to install so as to check the translations?

Our friends over at WordPress use this format (extracts from Greek translation):
<string name="Installing_Theme___s">Εγκατάσταση θέματος: %s…</string>
<string name="Install_Themes">Εγκατάσταση θεμάτων</string>
<string name="Update_Themes">Ενημέρωση θεμάτων</string>

Speaking of Wordpress, this guide to Wordpress Themes in Greek might be useful.

Follow-up: I used translate.wordpress.org/locale/el as my source for Greek above.
The WordPress 4.9 branch appears active: translate.wordpress.org/locale/el/default/wp/dev
From there, I chose the Administration project: translate.wordpress.org/projects/wp/dev/admin/el/default
…and then at the bottom of the page there’s an option to export, I chose XML for clarity, then open in your preferred text editor (I like Atom at the moment) and search for the keyword(s) you want.

θέμα means subject (as in the subject of the book). I guess that the point is to use words which are understandable across systems though so… thanks!!! :)
