National Wiffleball League Association (NWLA) Tournament website
Hi all.
UPDATE 2023: Not sure when it happened, but this is no longer running using Textpattern. It’s running on Wix and it looks pretty ugly.
This one I made it more than a year ago:
National Wiffleball League Association Tournament
www.nwlatournament.com
On this website, there are many sections where Textpattern is mostly used as a “wrapper” around some custom PHP scripts developed by the client. In other words, Textpattern provides “placeholders” (via page templates or even the article body
) where this custom scripts are include
d. This custom scripts bring data from the DB about players, teams, stats, etc.
There are some other sections where content is managed by Textpattern (About, News, Rules, etc).
Plugins used on this project:
adi_calc
aks_header
arc_meta
cbe_if_prod_status
etc_query
mck_snippet
rah_flat
rah_function
rah_replace
rvm_inherit
rvm_plugin_diff
rvm_privileged
smd_featured
smd_if
smd_macro
smd_multi_choice

I really like the design. Sort of a 19-century esthetic – if they had had websites in the 19th century.

Lovely stuff! Can I use this in the showcase section of the new Textpattern.com site, launching soon? If so, I will contact you directly to share details.

Everyone: thanks for your kind words.
I forgot to mention that the design (the aesthetics) are not by me. Client provided me with a few Photoshop screenshots (of a desktop-only version) made by his designer and I took the task of:
- convert them into HTML/CSS/JS (plus some sliced images).
- make them mobile-friendly/responsive
- solve a few design issues and some missing stuff (hover status for buttons and links, heading hierarchies, responsive navigation, etc) that weren’t contemplated (or were overlooked) in the original design.
@philwareham, please, feel free to showcase it on the new Textpattern.com site and contact me for any further question you may have.
