You might also consider installing Subversion and/or TortoiseSVN to make upgrading a simple mouse-click and you should spot that “Timeline” has an RSS feed so you can monitor progress easily on a regular basis.

It gets even better (if you’re hosted on <a href=“http://www.textdrive.com/” alt=“Better Hosting with Textdrive. Part of an essential breakfast”>TextDrive</a>).

It can all happen seamlessly

Re: 1.0rc1 Released

The info for setting up your SVN is on the info page Wilshire linked to above. The important bit is the SVN address it points to. You need to rename your existing textpattern folder to something like textpatternold then create a new textpattern folder. Once you have SVN setup on your machine you should be able to “right-click” on the new textpattern folder and you will find an “update” option in the popup menu. I’ll leave you to guess the rest.

I do mine on my PC then FTP the new stuff after. You will see a list of the new files as it updates so I just make a note of them then FTP only those files. Remember that config.php doesn’t exist in the normal textpattern files so you will need to copy it across to your new folder.

Re: 1.0rc1 Released

I’m “almost” at the point of useing multiple TxP installs on the same domain to acheive clean titles urls.

Come to think of it. Can anyone think of a way to interface with say three installs on one domain through one centralized TxP interface? Actually… that would be better than clean titled urls!

Hot dang… maybe we’re onto something here. Mamash, Dean… any thoughts?

Re: 1.0rc1 Released

I just upgraded an old version of txp
all seems running fine, expect that I have no more articles who appear on the default page (article section). I try to look around to see if any config file is bad but no effect so far.

On that home page normally I should get what I have on that page. (who is in fact the default section).

What’s going wrong?

Re: 1.0rc1 Released

Well, I just downgraded to my γ1.18 version. Still if anyone know from what came my problem :-)

To try to be more clear,
with the last built installed, following Dean advice:
The home page display well, minus articles who doesn’t appear anymore. To make the page full of articles as normal (not on current examples as I’m back to the previous version), I need to access to the /article/ section. All others sections work well too.

What’s wrong?

Re: 1.0rc1 Released

I have the same problem jfp.

I’m yet to figure out why or how it’s doing it so I’ve also had to revert back to 1.19.

I hope someone will be able to shine some light on this (pretty please with sugar on :-) )
