webfaction Textpattern

Has anyone else received notice that their webaction service was being upgraded?

I am wondering what it all means for my Textpattern sites? Details here

Re: webfaction Textpattern

That was quite some time ago I think when they changed plans or servers..the upgrade was pretty smooth as far as I can remember. You might want to contact support if you need help…

I remember doing something to upgrade, but don’t recall the actual process…but it wasn’t difficult I think!

Re: webfaction Textpattern

I had 2 minor problems

I had both an index.php and an index.html file in the root and for some reason index.html took over preventing txp to load the client side.

The second problem was not that obvious

Interesting. I haven’t had this notice and our server (in the EU) is still on centOS6.

I also have a txp 4.4.1 install (postmaster is pushing me back). I had to alter the following files to make it work on PHP version: 5.4.45.

/textpattern/index.php,
/textpattern/lib/classTextile.php,
/textpattern/lib/txplib_misc.php,
/textpattern/publish/taghandlers.php

Let me know if you need them.

Re: webfaction Textpattern

Thanks for the offer. I have all my Textpattern sites up-to-date using the latest and greatest version. BUT i have one legacy roll-your-own site built on PhP which will probably break. I tested it yesterday under MAMP > borked.
I think this opening command causes it to fail. most likely the call to connect to DB.

I post it here as a curiosity .

<?
session_start();
if (!isset($_SESSION[‘lang’]))
{ $_SESSION[‘lang’] = “it”;
}
if ($_GET[‘language’] != “”)
{ if ($_GET[‘language’] == “english”) { $_SESSION[‘lang’] = “”; } else { $_SESSION[‘lang’] = “it”; }
}

$menuarray = array();

$menuarray[‘a’] = array(“About GD”,“Chi Siamo”,“aboutus.php”);
$menuarray[‘b’] = array(“Products and Services”,“Prodotti e Servizi”,“services.php”);
//$menuarray[‘c’] = array(“News”,“Notizie”,“news.php”);
$menuarray[‘d’] = array(“Portfolio”,“Portfolio”,“portfolio.php”);
$menuarray[‘e’] = array(“Working with Us”,“Lavorare con noi”,“withus.php”);
$menuarray[‘f’] = array(“Contact”,“Contatti”,“contact.php”);

$db_dbip = “localhost”;
$db_dbuserid = “root”;
$db_dbpassword = “root”;
$db_dbname = “generaldisplay_main”;

mysql_connect($db_dbip, $db_dbuserid, $db_dbpassword);
mysql_select_db($db_dbname) or die(“Error opening database”);
