Textpattern URLs
I’m trying to remember.. Used to be that all of the following would work in my Textpattern site to serve up articles and pages:
http://sitename.com/section/42/title-of-the-post
http://sitename.com/other-section/42/
http://sitename.com/any-section-name/42/
http://sitename.com/any-section-name/42/title-of-the-post
So it was possible to call up an article in various section pages (in varying formats) even if the article was not explicitly assigned to that section. Currently I’m finding that If I don’t specify the assigned section, then the article will not load.
Was that ability (able to call up articles in other sections than the one it was assigned) the result of a plugin (probably sgb_url_handler?) or was that built-in to Textpattern in the past? Or is it only not working on my site now (sgb_url_handler and gbp_permanent_links are off, so my /section/category/ urls are also all broken) however working on everyone else’s?

Re: Textpattern URLs
That was considered as a security bug and patched. It was a very useful feature, though.

Re: Textpattern URLs
Very helpful to know, thank you. I was at first sure it was in the earlier core Textpattern (didn’t need any plugins), and then I wasn’t sure.
Meanwhile, I turned sgb_url_handler back on now and yes it delivers all of those beautifully.
